Em continuidade com a imagem que desenvolvemos em 2017, para marcar os 10 anos de Inaugurações Simultâneas em Miguel Bombarda, e para entrarmos no novo ano com o “pé direito” na 1ª edição de 2018 continuamos a apresentar a identidade de Miguel Bombarda.
Quem é Miguel Bombarda? “I own this street” representa a voz dos que aqui vivem e trabalham num stencil marcado pela Lara Luis numa parede da Rua de Miguel Bombarda. Paredes que se falassem contavam histórias de vida, sorrisos e memórias. O stencil entretanto foi apagado, coberto de tinta por outro desenho, mas a memória coletiva permanece.
Lara Luis pertence ao colectivo Circus Network fundado por Ana Muska e André Carvalho, uma agência de criativos, galeria, loja e coworking dedicada essencialmente à arte urbana e ilustração nacionais. No portfólio da Circus destaca-se a organização do festival de arte urbana do Porto, o Push Porto (2014), e a parceria com Katty Xiomara na pintura de um mural no antigo matadouro do Porto para o desfile da coleção SS18, Portugal Fashion (2017).
Consideramos que o envolvimento da comunidade, a arte e o design têm um papel fundamental na mudança de um paradigma social e na possível transformação da comunidade através da arte.

In continuity with the image that we developed in 2017, to mark the 10 years of the Simultaneous Openings in Miguel Bombarda, and to start the new year with the "right foot", in the 1st edition of 2018 we continue to present Miguel Bombarda's identity.
Who is Miguel Bombarda? "I own this street" represents the voice of the ones who live and work in Miguel Bombarda. The sentence was marked in a wall of Miguel Bombarda street in a stencil made by the local artist LARA LUIS. If these walls could talk they'd spoke about the life histories, smiles and memories. However the stencil was erased, covered with paint and another drawing, the collective memory remains the same.
LARA LUIS is part of the artists' collective Circus Network founded by Ana Muska and André Carvalho, an agency of creative, gallery, store and coworking dedicated essentially to the thematic of urban art and portuguese illustration. In Circus Network portfólio stands out the organization of the urban art festival of Porto, Push Porto (2014), and the partnership with Katty Xiomara in the painting of a mural at the old slaughterhouse of Porto for her SS18 fashion show, Portugal Fashion (2017).
We recognize the importance and value of the community-engaged building.

On this series of posters, designed during the six editions of 2018, we pay tribute to local artists and present their work in our posters, six events, six muppie posters, six local artists. The muppie poster as a blank paper sheet and the city transformed into an outdoor gallery.

Na segunda edição das Inaugurações Simultâneas de 2018 continuamos a apresentar os artistas locais... Seis eventos, seis mupis, seis artistas locais e a rua como galeria em espaço aberto.
Helena Rocio Janeiro é formada em Artes Plásticas pela Escola Superior Artística do Porto, vive e trabalha na rua do Breiner e abriu em 2007 uma das primeiras loja/ ateliê de artesanato urbano no Porto. Hoje dedica-se exclusivamente ao projeto de colagens “Coração o Ditador”, expõe regularmente em Portugal e no estrangeiro e já participou nas Inaugurações Simultâneas diversas vezes, nomeadamente na Galeria Metamorfose.

Grown up and free!
Helena Rocio Janeiro is graduated in plastic arts by the Higher School of Arts in Porto, lives and works at Breiner street and has opened, in 2007, one of the first Porto conceptual stores focused in urban crafts. Today, she is dedicating all her time to the collages project "Coração o Ditador".
Her work has been shown regularly in Portugal and abroad and she has participated in the Simultaneous Openings multiple times, namely at Metamorfose Art Gallery.

Na 3ª edição das Inaugurações Simultâneas convidamos o ilustrador David Penela representado pela O! Galeria, Rua de Miguel Bombarda 61.
David Penela é formado em Artes Plásticas - Multimédia pela Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto, mestre em desenho e técnicas de impressão pela mesma instituição, vive e trabalha no Porto.
A O! Galeria é uma galeria dedicada exclusivamente à ilustração onde Ema Ribeiro pretende afirmar que a ilustração “não é uma arte menor”. Localizada na zona pedonal do cruzamento entre a Rua de Cedofeita e a Rua de Miguel Bombarda, a O! Galeria é a "porta de entrada" no chamado Quarteirão Miguel Bombarda, o bairro das artes.

In the 3rd edition of the Simultaneous Openings we invited the illustrator David Penela represented by O! Gallery, Rua Miguel Bombarda 61.
David Penela has a degree in Fine Arts - Multimedia from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto, master in drawing and printing techniques by the same institution, lives and works in Porto.
O! Galeria is a gallery dedicated exclusively to illustration where Ema Ribeiro intends to affirm that illustration "is not a minor art". Located in the pedestrian zone of the intersection between Rua de Cedofeita and Rua de Miguel Bombarda, the O! Galeria is the "gateway" in the so-called Miguel Bombarda Quarter, the art district of Porto.

Na 4ª edição das Inaugurações Simultâneas de 2018 apresentamos o trabalho do vizinho Renato Cruz Santos, residente na Rua de Miguel Bombarda.
Fotógrafo com um extenso portfólio no género de fotografia documental, nesta imagem procura afasta-se do real e aproximar-se da forma e da cor na sua essência mais pura, livre.
O espaço que usamos como cenário é a Galeria Fernando Santos, responsável pelo dinamismo cultural introduzido no Quarteirão Miguel Bombarda. Sendo um dos pioneiros na divulgação da arte contemporânea nacional e internacional, atualmente Fernando Santos dedica-se à galeria mas também ao espaço Oficina onde alia a arte contemporânea a uma cozinha cuidada, mas despretensiosa, pela mão do Chef Marco Gomes. Conversas à mesa para aproximar pessoas e personalidades do meio artístico, a expansão da arte pelo diálogo e a gastronomia como pretexto.

In the 4th edition of the Simultaneous Openings of 2018 we present the work of the neighbor Renato Cruz Santos, resident in Rua de Miguel Bombarda. Photographer with an extensive portfolio in the genre of documentary photography, in this image he seeks to stray from the real and approach the form and color at its purest and free essence.
The space we used as a backdrop is Fernando Santos Gallery, responsible for the cultural dynamism introduced in the Miguel Bombarda neighborhood. Being one of the pioneers in the promotion of national and international contemporary art, Fernando Santos is currently dedicated to the gallery but also to the Oficina space where he combines contemporary art with a careful but unpretentious kitchen by the hand of Chef Marco Gomes. Conversations at the table to bring people and personalities closer to the arts, the expansion of art through dialogue and gastronomy as an excuse.

Na 5ª edição das Inaugurações Simultâneas de 2018 apresentamos o trabalho da vizinha Rita Roque, residente na Rua do Breiner.
Nascida em Genebra em 1984, Rita Roque vive e trabalha no Porto desde 2009. Frequentou o Mestrado de Crítica de Arte da FBAUP, o Mestrado em História de Arte e Turismo Cultural na UP e é licenciada em História de Arte pela Universidade de Coimbra. Atualmente trabalha como curadora em projetos independentes, sendo ainda, assistente de curadoria na Galeria Municipal do Porto desde 2016, e tendo sido educadora do Serviço Educativo da Fundação de Serralves desde 2011.
O cenário da fotografia é o segredo mais bem guardado de Miguel Bombarda, o jardim interior do espaço loja/cafetaria Openbox - Rua de Miguel Bombarda 467, Porto

In the 5th edition of the Simultaneous Openings event of 2018 we presented the work of the neighbor Rita Roque, resident in Breiner street.
Born in Geneva in 1984, Rita Roque lives and works in Porto city since 2009. She attended the Master's Degree in Art Criticism at FBAUP, the Master's Degree in Art History and Cultural Tourism at the University of Porto, and has a degree in Art History from the University of Coimbra. Currently, she works as a curator in independent projects, and as assistant curator at the Municipal Art Gallery of Porto since 2016. Rita has also been an educator at the Serralves Foundation Educational Service since 2011.
The setting is the best secret of Miguel Bombarda block, the interior garden of the Openbox / cafeteria space - Rua Miguel Bombarda 467, Porto

Tal como em 2017, fechamos 2018 a representar a multiculturalidade de Miguel Bombarda. Berriblue é uma artista polaca sediada no Porto. A artista não se considera uma artista de street art, mas vê a rua como uma oportunidade de se fundir no ambiente que a rodeia e Miguel Bombarda como um polo criativo de eleição. “Nunca me identifiquei como polaca ou irlandesa. Esse conceito de 'casa' é algo que sempre desejei, mas nunca tive, daí que a minha cabeça se tenha tornado ela própria num lugar”. BerriBlue encontrou a sua casa no Porto!
E assim fechamos 2018, na 6ª e última edição das Inaugurações Simultâneas de Miguel Bombarda / Porto Art District de 2018.
A rua que nos serve de cenário é a Rua de Adolfo Casais Monteiro, Quarteirão de Miguel Bombarda, Porto.

As in 2017, we conclude 2018 representing the multiculturality of Miguel Bombarda neighborhood. Berriblue is a Polish artist based in Porto. The artist does not consider herself a street art artist but sees the street as an opportunity to merge in the environment that surrounds it and Miguel Bombarda as a creative pole of choice. "I never identified myself as Polish or Irish. This concept of 'home' is something I've always wanted, but never had, so my head has become a place in itself. " BerriBlue found your home in Porto!
And so we closed 2018, in the 6th and last edition of the Simultaneous Openings of Miguel Bombarda / Porto Art District of 2018.
The street that serves as the scenery is the Adolfo Casais Monteiro Street, Miguel Bombarda Quarter, Porto.

Nesta série de cartazes, concebidos durante as seis edições de 2018, prestamos homenagem aos artistas locais e apresentámos o seu trabalho nos nossos cartazes, seis eventos, seis cartazes de rua, seis artistas locais. O muppie usado como folha em branco e a cidade transformada em galeria em "espaço aberto".
A abordagem é uma combinação de grafismos simples, sistema de grelha suíça, cores fortes e fotografia. Todos os cartazes contém uma mensagem de design subliminar desde "a rua pertence ao povo", transexualidade, conteúdo feminista e multiculturalismo.
Todas as fotografias foram tiradas em espaços situados em Miguel Bombarda.
Os artistas locais selecionados vivem e trabalham no quarteirão.
Consideramos que o envolvimento da comunidade, a arte e o design têm um papel fundamental na mudança de um paradigma social e na possível transformação da comunidade através da arte.
Esta série de cartazes teve uma aceitação muito positiva por parte do público (locais e não locais), de tal forma que os espectadores desenvolveram um sentimento de pertença. As pessoas sentiram-se como parte do grupo, da comunidade local, e quiseram participar no evento e respectivos suportes gráficos.

The approach is a combination of simple graphics, swiss grid system, bold shiny colors and photography.
All the posters present a subliminal and hidden design message from "the street belongs to the people", through transsexuality, feminist content or multiculturalism.
All the photographies were taken in places around Miguel Bombarda block.
The local artists selected live and work in the neighborhood.
We recognize the importance and value of community-engaged, art and design for a social change and community building through the arts.
This series of posters had a very positive acceptance by the public (locals and non locals) in a way that viewers had a sense of belonging. People felt as part of the group, of the local community, and wanted to join in the event and its graphic supports.
